MediaTek launched the Helio P15 chipset in October 2016, an upgrade to the popular Helio P10. The new processor boasts an octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU clocked at 2.2GHz, a 10% increase from its predecessor, and a Mali-T860 MP2 GPU ticking at 800MHz. The Helio P15 promises better performance and power efficiency, although the battery improvements are expected to be minimal due to the same TSMC 28nm manufacturing process.
The chipset supports LTE Cat.6 and reportedly uses single-channel LPDDR3-933 memory, although the supported RAM capacity is unknown.
