The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 is a flagship mobile processor announced in December 2018, succeeding the Snapdragon 845. It features 8 cores: 1 Cortex-A76 at 2.84 GHz, 3 Cortex-A76 at 2.42 GHz, and 4 Cortex-A55 at 1.8 GHz. The Adreno 640 GPU offers improved graphics performance and higher clock speeds than the Adreno 630 in the 845. This chipset supports LPDDR4X memory, UFS 3.0 storage, and up to 16 GB of RAM.
It features a Hexagon 690 neural processor for AI tasks and supports Vulkan 1.1, OpenCL 2.0, and DirectX 12.1. The Snapdragon 855 has a maximum display resolution of 3840 x 2160, camera support up to 192MP, and video capture and playback at 4K and 120FPS.
